Language Access – Interpreter Services
This Language Access webpage is to inform members of the public about the availability of interpreter services from Shared Health and encourages patients/clients/families to ask their service provider to arrange an interpreter on their behalf.
Language Access Interpreter Services employs trained, accredited interpreters who provide services in many languages. This reduces risks associated with language barriers. Services are available in-person, over-the-phone or via video conference in over 200 languages and are free for patients in Manitoba in publicly funded health services such as hospitals, community health services, and CancerCare Manitoba, as well as for patients seeing family physicians in Winnipeg.
As well, Health Links/Info Santé has access to over the phone interpreter services, and interpreter services are also available to the public accessing some other Manitoba government services.
