Senior Supports in Group Living (SSGL)
The Supports for Seniors in Group Living model developed through Manitoba’s Aging in Place Initiative provides enhanced supports within some designated existing seniors’ housing at no charge to tenants. SSGL programs encourage older adults to maintain their independence in the community by providing assistance with everyday life activities such as filling out forms, arranging appointments, transportation options, connecting to social activities, health education, supporting well-being and navigating systems.
For more information regarding Senior Supports in Group Living (SSGL), please contact Regional Manager of Homecare Operations and Senior Supports, at 204-623-9563.

Community Resource Councils
Seniors community resource councils are non-profit organizations that provide services in the community by coordinating volunteers and fee-for-service workers to assist seniors and persons with disabilities to maintain their independence in the community. Services coordinated by senior’s community resource councils allow seniors to remain in their homes for as long as possible and may include transportation to medical appointments, social events, house cleaning, yard work/minor maintenance, snow removal, friendly visiting and referrals to appropriate agencies. Seniors community resource councils may also organize health and wellness events, fraud and safety program and falls prevention programs.
